This is an island in the remotest sea Where the soft sunset dies, Where sky and earth meet. Where growing eastern shore! To rapid heart beats … Where ancient statues and are rigid: In his blue, common sky. # 768 07/22/2005 Author's Note: .. "Easter Island, some 2500 miles off the coast of Chile, is perhaps the most remote island in the world, I visited him in 6 / 2002, I had called David Hatcher Childress [an explorer of the mysteries around the world] and talked to him about his Travel to Easter Island, my home in Peru, and a few of his books, and hoped to go with his group on the island, but the timing was not good, and I had to wait several months of his time to go. I stayed at a nice motel where the film star Kevin Costner, during the shooting of his film, the moai were human remains. And rented a jeep, and so one weeks traveling around the island, with about 600 statues of the spirits in some of these huge stone statues – some weighting 90 tons – had no intention of leaving her apartment once dominated;. still continuing and sustained the times, and not ready to let go of the island. With all the secrets, I found the sunset there will be the best I have witnessed around the world. "In Spanish Translated by Nancy Penaloza Isla de Pascua (Un Poema) Esta es una isla, en el mar más remoto Donde la Puesta del Sol suave Muere, Donde la tierra y el cielo se encuentran. ¡Donde las Playas del Este se despiertan Al corazón Rápido golpean !…. 365.95 Sisterhood of the Traveling Socks por Dyxie

Just like the rest of the world, in South America has certainly not immune to the U.S. and global economic downturn. Chile is geographically protected by the Andes to the east, the Pacific Ocean in the west depends on the vast Atacama Desert in the north and the icy waters off the coast of Antarctica in the south, but it is a country very attached to the global economy and strong on International Trade in North America, the European Union, Asia and its neighbors in South America, especially for its prime exports – copper, wood pulp and agricultural products.I am a U.S. citizen living in Chile. As a freelance consultant, I have personally seen my business drop during this downturn. Large international mining and engineering companies are cutting back or put their investment plans on ice has a direct impact on their demand for services. I have friends who are displaced, one of them a recent college graduate looking forward to a promising future with an international engineering and consulting firm that was an innocent victim of the economic timing. Another is a professional with a long and distinguished career, hoping to strengthen his savings for a few years to have for the decline in the value of his retirement account, based on a system of privatized workers compensation Chile.Chilean a safety net based on the labor law that provides for the payment of compensation where jobs will be eliminated due to downsizing or reorganization of a company. You will receive a basic monthly salary for each year of employment, usually up to a maximum of 11 years. This will not free employees who are forced to search for multiple revenue sources. Similar to mining companies in search of water for their operations in the Atacama desert, you can not find an oil well, but if one can put together enough trickles by.The activity of the ubiquitous construction cranes in Santiago received has become much calmer, which the loss of construction jobs. And people are noticeably tighten belts, especially those that recession, which affected deeply remind this country in the early 80s. The fall in prices for copper, Chile's salary as is known, from a peak of about $ 4 per pound in July 2008, at about $ 1.50 per pound hit the country particularly hard, and clearly shows the decline in demand from important trading partner Chile's partners, including China. But Chile is a resilient economy and people are known for their return, whether by natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods and volcanic eruptions and economic crises. Chile has a solid institutional basis, with a strong legal framework and has maintained a conservative fiscal policy, building up reserves during the boom in commodity prices. President Michelle Bachelet was through a $ 4000000000 push economic stimulus package, has the largest in the history of Chile to create 100,000 jobs and the creation of conditions for the constant target of a stellar economic performer growth.Chile among South American countries and even the world in general since many years. Despite a planned apartment or negative growth in the first months of the year, economists expect a slight 1.2% in 2009, a total expansion. Chileans are a hardy people, and they come back strong.
